At Initial Point, we place the highest importance on respecting and protecting the privacy of your photographs. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when using PicsMatch. Therefore, we would like to share with you the following principles that govern our information practices and other privacy aspects of our PicsMatch software products.

Our Philosophy and Practices

We tell you how we use your information

You control access to the information you enter into the PicsMatch software product. PicsMatch allows you to search for photographs on your personal computer. You do not send any photographs to the Internet to perform the searches.

We request information during registration. We will tell you, or it will be clear, what information is required. We store your entered email address and password along with computer hardware key for license and support purposes. We may request or obtain other operating system environment information to better serve you if and when you contact support.

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • We do not share your personal information with anyone outside of Initial Point for promotional and/or marketing use.

We tell you how our software interfaces with the Internet

During registration, PicsMatch will transmit your hardware key to our web site for licensing. We will transmit to you the PicsMatch license which enables you to operate the program.

During the use of the program, you may select to Email a photograph. PicsMatch will send selected photographs to your email system for transmission.

If you request support, (such as an inquiry about the use of facial recognition with a particular photograph) PicsMatch will gather information from the program necessary to support the request and transmit that information to our support web site at picsmatch.com.

Product Updates PicsMatch provides software product updates and help content in Internet transmissions.

Product Suggestions and Feedback We invite you to share your thoughts about your PicsMatch software product. To better understand your issue or suggestion, we may collect information about your PicsMatch product (e.g. the version of the product you are using and operating system).

PicsMatch Photo Analysis You may request Initial Point to analyze to determine why PicsMatch matched or failed to match a photograph. When you make this request, PicsMatch will transmit for analysis the requested digital image, the matching ID and search engine processing parameters set up by yourself or by the program.

This information will be used for support purposes only and will be shared only by Initial Point and Cognitec analysts. These analysts will use the data only to analyze and improve the search results.

Discussion Forums On-line discussion forums enable forum members to communicate with other members. To participate in the forum, we require that you register with a valid e-mail address. We may use your e-mail address in the event we need to contact you regarding your postings or to inquire about your forum experience. We recommend that care be taken in posting personal information on this message board, as any information you provide is accessible by other users.

E-mail Messaging When sending you e-mail, we may use an image called a single-pixel GIF, that allows us to format messages tailored to your computer’s capabilities. We also use this technology to determine, in the aggregate, the number of people who open our e-mails. When you initiate a response by clicking on a link within an e-mail message, you are redirected onto the Internet. We then record your individual response to help us deliver information that is more relevant to your interests.

We give you choice and control

When using PicsMatch, you are not required to email or share any photographs on the Internet. You may desire support from Initial Point to improve the facial recognition performance for specific photographs. If you desire this support, PicsMatch will prompt you before sending any information to our support web site.

We tell you about our relationships with Third Parties

Initial Point has an agreement with Cognitec to provide facial searching in digital images. Our contract outlines the appropriate use and handling of your information and prohibits Cognitec from using any of your personal information for purposes unrelated to the analyzing the facial recognition algorithms.

Should we sell, merge or transfer any part of our business, part of the sale may include your personal information. If so, you will have the opportunity to ask not to receive promotional information following any change of control.

We may use sources outside of Initial Point to supplement the information you give us. For example, we may validate your address using other sources. We use this data to help us maintain accuracy and provide you with better service.

We keep our Privacy Policy current

We regularly update the features of our software and our customer services to better serve our customer and this policy may also be revised from time to time.
