DAYTON, Ohio - Three filmmakers took home PicsMatch Contest Awards at the
2009 FilmDayton Festival this weekend. At the PicsMatch sponsored “Pitch It” Event at the first
annual Dayton Film Festival at Neon Theater downtown on Fifth Street. Over 40 videos were
submitted to the contest, bringing a wide variety of content and perspective.
Local film maker, Davie Powers, accepted an award for his popular “Hitmen” video which featured
hitmen taking out the wrong guy because they didnt use PicsMatch facial recognition to keep
their subjects organized.
Local film crew, Exit Row Productions, won three awards for “Fiance,” “Tacos,”
and “Graduation” clips. Each of these scenarios marking a good way to use the software to keep
control of which photos you send to others.
Lastly, Chicago native and University of Dayton Alum, Dan Ptak, won six awards for his off the
wall movies featuring a humansized bunny with a handlebar mustache. The image of a box
around the Bunny portrayed when PicsMatch can tag your pictures in any wild instance.
Winners were given a $1000 cash prize for each video they produced in the Top 10 Most
